if i get a link from some site how would I know if this link improve google ranking?

    Hi,
    I want to know how can I be sure that the link i am going to get(from any website, directory or blog) will improve my site's google ranking or not?

    I ask this because I have noticed all links don't improve google ranking.

    Even I made my blog dofollow to spread the link love, currently there are few comments on each page so getting a solid backlink is so easy on my PR0 blog
