Actually its depends whats the site you have used for directory submission.if you used higher page rank sites for it.so definitely you get backlink from it but some period of time because directory takes more time for approval.so best of luck.
Probably, great percentage of those submissions will not be counted or just give little value. If you could just compute how much time, energy and resources you lost and convert them into money, you may find getting listed on reliable big directory that guarantees indexing and inclusion may worth better.
it depends on approval links, if you do 100 links directory a day then only 10% will be approve your links.
Submitting to directories are the simplest way to get quality incoming links. this will increase visibility in search engines and gives you strong backlinks.... although it is slow process bt this is definite way to build links.... keep doing directory submission.
Yes it can generate the back links for your websites but it takes time for approval. So you should do high pr blog comment for making back links.
It all depends on th PR of the directories you are submitting to. If they have good PR then yes it will be counted if not i don't think it will be.
I have tried directory submission in the beginning and after a few week and a few hundred submissions I've got less that 10 links indexed. Even if they help you will never get enough.
