I want to create my own website which will be a buy and sell site, would I be able to manage it myself if I get someone to code it for me and I advertise it by myself?
I will earn money through the ads on the page and charge them 1$ an ad.
do I need a license or anything like that or can I just find a host set it up.. and earn money from it straight away once I get a lot of visitors?

You don't need a permission to start a business like that.

Of course you are able to hire someone who can do search engine optimizing, marketing and building the code.

You don't need anything special for doing that. Later on though you might want to consider becoming an LLC or something similar to help with legal aspects.

You will probably need a sales tax exempt certificate from your local jurisdiction if you plan on buying from wholesalers and selling at retail.

@alexmon, it really depends where you are located. If you are going to charge any amount you will need a mechanism in place to accept and process payments. This usually involves having a merchant bank account (unless you sign up as a vendor with an network like Clickbank), and having a merchant bank account involves having a registered business.

No you don't need any license for this job.
But when your company growth then you hire other people to work for you, then that time you will need to apply for license.
