If I... Can I?

I received an infraction for "inappropriate post" on my thread. I have since been through here reading umpteen million posts trying to figure out why in the heck I got an infraction on it. The closest thing I can figure is that maybe it's because I'd responded to someone on the thread letting them know I'd replied to their pm. I was doing that for my own tracking purposes, but now I know better...my fault.

Anyway, my question is this. Now that I know better, can I make a new thread since that one got closed? I don't want to get in trouble for having multiple threads... is it standard to close a thread, rather than just give an infraction? And, being as I've never been in trouble here at DP before... was there anything with that thread I'd done that was serious enough to get a red infraction my first time, rather than just a yellow warning? I'm not trying to "whine" here, I just want to make sure I don't mess up again, because I typically draw a lot of my business from DP.

My apologies if these particular questions have already been covered... I promise, I have been reading many stickies, posts, etc. trying to figure these out.

Your thread violates the latest announcement in buy, sell, trade. Requests such as "Feel free to either pm or post, I will respond to both. I look forward to working with you!". If you made such a post today you would be banned for a week.

Your thread on the first page alone was loaded with infractable offenses. The second post, fourth post, eighth post, ninth post, twelth post, fourteenth post, and eighteenth post are all considered bumps. Please read the bumping sticky in buy, sell, and trade and be prepared to follow it to the letter.

I would suggest you use the bad post report and request the thread be closed and repost making sure you are not asking for bumps.
