If I bought this server... Could I lease it out?

If I was to buy the below server and setup remote access... Do you suppose I would be able to lease it out? If so, for how much?

I'm thinking mainly for hosting purposes, but anything really would be fine.

    Thanks!

Are you saying that you would buy the server up front (Paying more than $1000 for the server), and then co-locating it and leasing it to someone? or are you saying that you want to lease it yourself and use it for your own purposes? Your post is saying 2 different things.

It's your dedicated server. You are allowed to do whatever you want as long as it's within their TOS and any other agreements you agreed to follow.

My plan is to buy the server and co-locate it. I would then like to find people to lease server space.

Hosting would be your best bet then. Just letting you know, hosting isn't all easy money in and out type deal. I've ran a Hosting company before and it took about 8 months for costs to stop coming out of my own pocket. It will take time.

Nothing against you but I think when most web hosts lease dedicated servers they also depend on a 24/7 support help desk that can quickly resolve problems. If your price it right I'm sure someone would lease it as long as its located in a decent data center.

It's fine but it's not close to be top of the line.

The DVD player is actually not worth anything as most datacenter crash carts have their own for reinstalling OS'es. To be honest, they just get in the way, at least in a 1U. Affect airflow as well.

Video cards aren't that important either.

For pricing reference, I'm leasing out Dual Intel 2.8-3.0's with 12 gigs of memory and paired 80-250 gig hard drives for $165-$365 a month, the difference being bandwidth allowance and the purpose of the lease. (The higher priced boxes get a higher bandwidth allocation and a higher importance "score" at the routers.)
