Each file uses 1 inode. You need to reduce the number of files you have under your account.

Yes, every single file is an inode. Even mail could be counted in your inode usage if you keep it on server. Most hosts have a very high limit on this, how many inodes are you currently at?

    Hi,

You can check your hosts inode limits in their Terms and Conditions under the heading INODES here - http://www.justhost.com/terms-and-conditions?hidenav

You will see that the limit is 50,000. Contact your host to check if this limit can be increased by upgrading to a larger shared plan - we could not find such detail in their T&C's.

If this is not possible, you may need to change hosts. You can obtain very reasonably priced shared hosting plans for about the same price you are paying now that allow up to 150,000 files and larger shared plans allowing up to 450,000 files if you search.

    Good luck.
