And who said it wasn't fair game already?

Reminds me of Tom Green's "Bitch Where's My Dinner?!" statue episode... LOL

Oh boy, I feel a rant coming on...
I do not support involuntary military service for men or women. I do believe in equal rights for men and women. For example, If a man and woman can do the same job, don't you think they should get equal pay? Yet statistics show they are not paid the same. The reality of it is that women "get" to work, are paid less, then they are expected to do all the housework when they get home as well. In addition, we live in a society that devalues women who choose not to work outside the home. It is like they expect you to have wonderful never neglected children, work 40 hours, always be there for your husband, and keep a spotless house. Many women feel guilty they cannot do everything and are stressed out. I can tell that everyone in this thread thus far is male because you are all forgetting a very important factor in drafting women, children. If they started drafting both men and women, who will take care of the kids?

I think that anyone that supports Bushes illegal and fake "war" should be forced to get their arses out there to see what it is like, rather than cheerleading it sat in the comfort and safety of their own homes behind their PC's. ;)

I disagree. Whoever becomes president is the commander in chief and above all military personnel. If you are going to set a good example you should at least be on equal footing with those that may end up on the front lines.

We have had presidents who aren't war heros like John McCain, but at least they all had to sign up for selective service... so they could have been dodging bullets in a ditch somewhere.

But anyway, so are you saying you don't think women should have to sign up for selective service? If so, why not? Aren't men and women equal?

Bush's illegal, fake war? lol... Yeah, I'm sure the world would be so much better off with Saddam still alive and in power.

How do you know some of us here haven't served in previous wars?

Such a shame...while all the libs & dems are out drinking cappuccinos and reading poetry in their favorite coffee shops, real men are out there protecting the country.

I think what we need to do is send everyone home and start the draft. lol...that's probably what this is all about. All the libs are quaking in their boots that they are actually going to have to give back to their country.

I wonder how long a country run entirely by libs would survive with no military. China would laugh their asses off as they nuked you into oblivion and took your country over.

    Just my 2 cents :D

This isn't about work and equal pay. The question at hand is how soon can we get the women to start dodging bullets on the front line? Hopefully ASAP!

If women are so poorly paid why are their NUMEROUS examples of women who are obscenely rich... such as Oprah Winfrey who is a billionaire, female and African American. I'm sorry, but the idea that women don't get paid equally is BS.

It's unfortunate, because of people like you the world operates on a kill-or-be-killed mentality.

I wonder when we are going to grow up?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but feel free to elaborate.

Nobody wants war but it is a reality we have to deal with. If we completely dismantled our military someone else like China would definitely PWN us.

Yeah, it's just those pesky government statistics that say that women only earn 75% of what men do. The government must be wrong cuz if Oprah Winfrey is rich that proves there is no difference in pay.

I'm pretty sure Oprah is rich:

    http://www.forbes.com/lists/2007/53/07celebrities_Oprah-Winfrey_O0ZT.html

How much money YOU make is up to YOU. Sure there are external forces at play, but if you really want to make more money the only person who is going to care the most about it is YOU. Nobody else cares. If you're waiting for the government to pass laws and yadda yadda, you're going to be waiting a long...long time.

I recommend entrepreneurship... I just started messing around with making commissions with eBay and commission junction and highly recommend it.

I am in no way affiliated with this site, but definitely consider getting this:

    http://buildanichestore.com

The only catch is you MUST add unique content or it won't work.

Anyway, I'm mostly trying to be a wise guy... cuz us republicans have had to put up with a ton of flak over the last several years. :)

But seriously... if Hillary is elected, they should definitely make women register for the draft.

The assumption that no people with liberal views serve in the military is soooo far off base... I believe a lot of people think that because while in the military you don't have true freedom of speech...

It would probably be better for the thousands and thousands of Iraqis who have died since 2003, and the hundreds of thousands of refugees in Syria.

With no navy, no air force, no WMDs and no connection to 9/11, how exactly was your boogeyman a threat to us? Oh yeah, I forgot. He started selling oil in Euros.

Aaah so you're a wise guy,:)
But using the same line of reasoning, if Obama gets elected there should be an involuntary draft of men. I hope they don't start the draft for men or women.

p.s. thanks for the business tip.:)

Because you're murderers, thieves and liars? Seems fair to me.

@ Rebecca, great point about the kids, but men or women, kids need their parents. It's crazy that we send our next generation of fathers and leaders off to get killed.

If there was a draft now and young people were being sent to Iraq through the draft, the national outcry against the war would grow dramatically and the war in Iraq would end amazingly quick.

Bush is waging two wars. Active duty tours have been extended. National guard men and women are being sent to Iraq. We are hiring mercenaries to take on the tasks always formerly handled by active duty soldiers.

Endless military experts claim that the ground forces/marines and army are way overextended and the US military is doing things it never did before prior to this administration.

A draft and sending a dramatic number of young soldiers who don't really want to go serve would immediately change the tempor of the nation from its current state of anti war, but not enough to end it immediately to a dramatic change to end the US involvement in Iraq immediately.

Should women be forced to register for a draft? No. Its a nonsensical question. So long as Bush is in power there won't be a draft.

I don't know Guerrila. I think you should watch this video (not at work) before making any rash decisions.

Currently all men do have to sign up for the draft (aka selective service)... but women do not. I think both men and women should have to if we are to be equal. :)

blah blah blah... a lot of broken records keep on playin'!

Bottom line is this war would have been over with a long time ago if the dems wouldn't have been fighting against the U.S. starting from day one. Kind of hard to win a war when dems are undermining the effort on a daily basis. ;)

One thing you gotta love about you guys is how you try to divert attention instead of answering the original question we started off with. Instead of answering questions you blame Bush for everything.

If Hillary is elected, should women register for selective service? The answer is a resounding YES!

    :D

About women not getting the same pay is BS if referred to the private sector; as a private I should be able to pay as much as I want any employee of mine, it's up to them to decide if they want to work for me or not.

In the public sector no, they should get the same pay for the same work.

And I insist that the president is and should be the political commander in chief, as it is in other countries, with variations, but base on the same principle.

The forces should be ultimately governed by an elected official, and therefore serve the people and the country. And anyway separate from the military.

Whether it works or not is another question, but apparently it does, since it's the other way round in many notoriously not so civilized 3rd world countries.

And finally, the war in Irak has been a great choice, it could have been planned better, but that's easy to say now, and even easier to know now.

It would be, no question about that at all.

Bush is a terrorist and he is a puppet that has now served his purpose.

Next up we have a puppet black man, an insane warmongerer or the wife of one of the biggest disasters to ever become President.

It's not looking good at all. :(
