    I'd leave assuming the user base died. If people actually stuck around... I'd cough up the money. There would definitely be more intellectual conversations...!

    If DP started charging then someone buy the domain digitalpointfree.com

    Everyone would end up there.

    The content is provided free by the members and the hosting is more than covered by adsense. You can get the information free on many other forums. It would be a BIG mistake

    It really depends on the forum and the community really, looking at DigitalPoint i don't personally think paid membership would do much good - but why not an optional paid membership instead, that actually might work...

    It might be ok at first if a lot of people stuck around.Current members might pay because they are aware of what dp offers. But, I don't think we would ever get any new members, who would pay $30 for a forum they didn't know anything about.

    i will not pay for membership because this dp forum will become less traffic and most of the webmasters will move towards the sitepoint forum.
