I never heard of a forum that cost me to join, so I think I'll leave.

Yes I'll go for it b'coz I can turn that 30$ -> 300$ from DP but forums should be free to use and I am sure DP will not do that ever

Yeah. As long as plenty of people stayed active. This is the best source for learning about webmastering (is that a word) that I have ever found.

It would be nice if you could still view/reply for free though :)

"Something Awful" (google it) charges, and it has a LOT of people that are willing to pay :)

They would loose members for sure. Many other forums might be profiting off this

$0.50/month would give DP great amount of $ still and people would pay that amount though...
not sure about $30.yr but it'll sure eradicate spammers & scammers ... (unless scammers scam other forum to get $ for DP :p )

I don't mind paying that amount. It's per year and not per month.

I would prefer paying $30 per year.

That would filter out a lot of spam and other nuisance.

    2nd thought i would say it's a bad idea
    why?

simply because charging = less spammers

    which means:
    - no more posts to make fun of
    - I wouldn't have more chances to practice my whois-ing to pinpoint newly registered domains
    :p

Guys if it charged 30$ a year it is worth it with the CURRENT TRAFFIC. Most of the people will LEAVE and it wont be worth 30$ no more.

30$/year, I'll stay if there are a lot of benefit of paying that amount. If no additional benefit, i'll not stay.
