It is good you have placed original contents on top, but I will recommend you do little quality link building as well. It will automatically improve your SERP.

 

I think the problem may be is that your using methods everyone is talking about that you'st to work afew years ago and don't work anymore i still see in these forums people are still deluded that thinking the old methods still work but the question is are they ranking first?

 

Social Media and Social Bookmarking sites are a must nowadays! Don't forget that posting GOOD content often is recommended with the RIGHT keywords chosen! Also, a few press release backlinks for example or anything else would be great for your website!

 

Google want good unique content. Don't worry about backlinking so much. If your content is engaging then it will get shared liked and tweeted through social media thus giving you backlinks to your site. Comments on your site helps too.

 

Continue all the process in off page, don't stop content marketing.

You also need more high quality natural backlinks, so you can also do directory submission and bookmarking on high PR sites.

Also promote your website on facebook, twitter, Google+.

Forum signature also help you so do more posting on forum and put your signature.

As I would like to say that high quality content is the most important for any web site to get ranked but only to have good content is not enough you must have to promote you site and on page changes as per without violating any search engine guidelines.

So now its turn to promoting your web site products and services to the high quality sites such as off page SEO activities and SMO to the relevant community and people to increase your website traffic and also ranking in search engine. Also focus on the country or local place from where you want to get visitors as you mentioned SA and UK.

 

Trust me, there's no mysterious magic in SEO. People use the same foundation, yet different tools. The foundations are outlined here:

I understand what you're going through and it's really tough at first. But trust me, just continue making valuable content with high SEO (if you're using Wordpress, use Yoast SEO). After which create social signals. Ping your post and your social signals. Ping your backlinks. Whenever your site updates its content or links, ping (but don't over-ping).

 

Both on-page and off-page needs to go hand by hand, ofcourse content is king in SEO, but you need to create awareness of your brand and gain lot of quality backlinks.

 

Content should be relevant just containing required density, on each page, exact ON page optimization, better back links, regular SEO work with higher priority links, more links from particular country where you want ranking.
