Mine reads: "Sorry this page cannot be displayed correctly because adblocking software is effecting some of the content." And the script works on all add blockers. Its looking for the IFrame with the adsense title.
Hehe. That's kind of funny ( I mean that in a nice way!) 1.) Maybe visitors will close the browser 2.) Maybe visitors will enable ads and click bomb you Is anyone so bold as to use this code? This is just an opinion from the visitor's shoes, but I would probably just go elsewhere and find a different site. In a webbuilder point of view, it would be nice to force ads on people without actually telling them (I think..) .. If anyone is using the Windows MS Browser, why get the ad plug in, why not fix up your host file instead. Too many ad companys maybe?
Everyone should have this script on his website. What do they think anyway ? That someone works, pays for domain and hosting, why ? for free? Maybe TV should have no advertisements also. Webmasters should fight with crap like that.
lolo,... Do you even make money with advertising? Or just make sites for fun, if not go away becuase no one cares.. I dont' make sites for fun I make it for money and give a crap if I get one less visitor who blocks ads. becuase he's not going to be clicking on my ads anyways.
oh sorry for that I think tihs getting me upset a bit. But really if the crusaders against ads win, then noone will be making sites anymore. Do you myspace and DIgg would be up if 99% of the visitors were blocking the ads.?? i dont' think so.
It's like telemarketers getting pissed off about the Do Not Call list...people on that aren't going to be receptive anyway, the DNC actually makes telemarketers jobs easier by weeding out the no-sales.
lol, and thies are the kind of people who you don't want on the internet. There probably mostly freeloaders sucking up bandwidth. Becuase they won't spend any money online anyways and niether do they click ads or anything. and instead of buying a program or going to blockbuster and renting a movie they go to piratebay. and think everything is free.
Those who actively seek out this ad blocker are very unlikely to click on any ads anyways. Personally Even If I did not use ads to make a living I would not block them. I like to see rellavent content. Any site that is MFA I avoid like the plauge anyways.
Agreed. But why would I want to give them anything when I can deprive them the information they want in 30 seconds? I cycle my ad-blocker blocker settings on and off. Keeps things shook up. You don't want to even consider an ad, I do not even want to consider giving you information. Saves me bandwidth anyways.
So much for the sharing of knowledge to all...I can guess about the types of sites we're talking about then.
There is some interesting conversation from people using adblocker here http://digg.com/tech_news/DailyKos_to_AdBlock_Users_Drop_Dead http://digg.com/software/Why_Firefox_is_blocked http://digg.com/tech_news/Adblock_Plus_the_nuclear_plug_in The main reasons are "i'm sticking it to the man!" "I'm not clicking on your ads to make you rich!"
I run a site with downloadable videos of How-Tos along with pro-e and cad files for parts. Basically giving away thousands of dollars in design for free. We also do giveaways for everything from HIDs to hoodies. All that money has to come from somewhere. I usually get 2-3million impressions a month on the Volvo site which runs off a dedicated server. I do not exactly feel like I am asking too much by asking members to view the content as it was intended. Next time I want to leach some images or content though I now know whos site to swing by
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think he is meaning he toggles the off and on as needed. I know, some of the sites I visit have a lot of adult ads. I use to make my kids leave the room when visiting a couple of the sites I go to for daily information. I think he is doing something similar. dp.
I don't get Ads on your board but the board works fine, however i just tried it with a Windows HOSTS file modification rather than one of the Ad Blockers.
