I dled IE8 just to see what all the hub bub was about. I prefer it to IE7 but thats not saying much. I"ll stick with firefox and Chrome.
Why? Does it actually render sites differently?! And is there an easy way to go back to IE7 if you don't like it? S
IE8 is more standards compliant with CSS than IE7 so it handles web sites like all the more modern browsers have for years, such as Firefox, Safari and Opera. So IE8 acting like the more advanced browsers is a good thing that you want. IE8 does have an IE7 compliant button but you should never use it because IE7 is not as good a browser as IE8. However, IE8 does not act like IE7 compliance-mode which doesn't act like IE7 which doesn't act like IE6. iow, Microsoft really screwed up. It's still the worst browser on the planet and 11 years behind all others in modern standards and practices. No one should be using any version of IE anyway so all this is moot and only for the comedy that it is.
im agree with you IE8 doesnt work (not with me) i too slow and more vulnerable this is my opinion i prefer mozilla or chrome greetings!!!!!
I'm sort of in a balance with it, as I found it more annoying than IE7, but then again it has IE7 compatibility, meaning you can make it emulate IE7. That doesn't say much for a browser tho, considering what that means, the new browser is so bad that it has to rely on an older version in order for all sites to load. After thinking about it, I'd stay with IE7 lol.
Why do you even bother asking which is better... IE7 or IE8? That's like asking, "Which would you rather eat a rotten apple or a rotten orange?". Firefox wins over all IE versions. It's just a superior browser overall.
Not exactly true. IE8s compatibility mode is not an exact duplicate of IE7 and does not act the same. Web developers now need to test in IE8, IE7 compatibility mode, IE7 and IE6. Microsoft already warned developers not to expect IE7 compatibility to work the same as IE7 on their IEBlog.
I have seen firefox, safari.. etc etc follow same standards.. where as IE always walk differently. So whenever we make made we have to make it cross-browser. If Microsoft starts to follow same standards as of firefox then it will be very easier for we coders to code..
