IE7 Abruptly Stopped Working????

Hi ... am not positive this thread fits here, but tho't I'd give it a try.

My IE7 abruptly stopped working. Each time I try to use IE7, a HTTP 404 Error occurs. IE7 doesn't seem to connect to the web. FireFox, an old Mozilla and NetScape all work fine.

I noticed the IE7 problem when trying to publish from FrontPage, and the program couldn't connect.

Only time IE7 works is when I test a url in the browser, which doesn't require a web connection.

I un- and re-installed IE7, did a clean boot, talked with Microsoft and my host. Nada in all instances.

    Any ideas about what's what?

Any way to switch FrontPage from IE to FireFox or another browser?

Need help, asap, as site is languishing for lack of new content.

    Thanks, in advance.

Make sure your setting do include the proxy setting clicked. I know sounds stupid but it does happen.

Yeah...better switch to Firefox forever! I think, you've to remove IE to switch over FrontPage to some other browser.

Hi W3bmaster ... for personal use, it's FireFox, absolutely, but FrontPage and 94.5% of my site visitors use IE5+. Did manage to solve a lot of the IE7-related problems, but still can't launch a site from inside Thunderbird and have to login each time I use FP. Eventually, all gets worked out, I guess. Thanks and Happy New Year.

Hi ... "use FireFox" is the answer, of course, but can you launch an MS app, say, FrontPage, using FireFox. Seems not, but my skills and knowledge are limited. I you know how, let me know and I'll be a happy camper. Also, how to dl from MS sites, with FireFox? If I can do both these tasks, using FireFox, I'm forever grateful. Thanks and Happy New Year.
