    Hi all,

The day has finally come that my (Dutch) computer wants to install IE7. I'm pretty pleased with the way it does this: it insists, but doesn't do it until I go along with it. It hasn't waited for me to actually use IE6 as I thought it would either.

I've been using http://www.ipinfo.info/netrenderer/ for checking how websites look in IE7, now I have to be able to do the opposite: how does the website I'm building look in IE6? Turns out that same website can do it. Just thought you would like to know.

My website stats show that the majority of my visitors still use IE6, so I'm not sure whether to switch yet. Still IE7 is by all accounts safer then IE6. I mean: I know that there is a 'I hate IE7' thread here, but that doesn't mean it's not better then IE6. It just means that the unusual crowd of webdesigners prefers Firefox (with good reason - all those useful and fun add-ons)

My stats (last week of December):

Yes, well I'm not exactly geeky enough to try and install IE6 standalone. I can't risk compromising my computer. Plus: the IE7 team developed a way to have IE6 & IE7 installed at the same time on the same computer, but that way will only work till April! IE7 adoption rates seem to be decent (after all only 55% or something IE6 users on my website is good, especially give that 40% of my users are Dutch and automatic updates didn't include IE7 for us till today). But still I don't expect it to go so fast that IE6 is no longer a factor after april 2007.
