    If forced to choose, I'll take Firefox any day. But where I come from, if you're not using Opera, you're not experiencing the Web! :)

    general users of the internet mainly use I.E, becuase they either dont know what a browser even is!! If i asked my dad what browser he was using he'd just say he was on the internet. And not many know that various other browsers exist.
    I personally favour I.E because it is what i am comfortable with. I never got into FF or Opera, It just wasnt my thing. I've found that designers tend to be like sheep, eg one says FF is great and then they all do otherwise they will be frowned upon, i think sod that, I am my own person and can browse with what i like. I just make sure anything that i make caters for everyones difference in browser taste!!!

    Well most webmaster tend to use Firefox. The average user is still trapped with IE, so this poll is a bit biased.

    The main thing is that if you design your site in Firefox from the start it is bound to work fine in IE with a few changes. The other way around, and you'll be pulling out all your hair along the way. ;)

    It's more important to design with IE in mind, but still a good idea to check how it looks in FF and even Netscape or/and Opera. Usually, if your website works on one it'll work on the others too. If it doesn't work, then you probably have sloppy code, and fixing it up is a good idea.

    You got that formula wrong, the math equation should go like this...

    IE = Microsoft
    Since Microsoft = Crap
    Then IE = Crap

    Ultimately, this is the most important thing, that the browser you choose is the browser that serves you best.

    I think this is an unfair statement, just as unfair as it would be to turn it around and call people who use IE MicroSheep ;)

    It seems to me Web developers, especially those who practice in a professional capacity, are well qualified to judge the effectiveness of browsing devices. Do you think it's possible the reason developers are so into Firefox is that it might just be a better menufactured product, not that it's "cool" to use it? Certainly it's a matter of opinion, but it sounds like a lot of people are independently stating the opinion that Firefox is superior. There's no pressure to do so. People could simply use what they like and not talk about it. I don't buy into this "use Fx because it's cool" theory.

    I use Internet Explorer for everyday browsing, and Firefox for when I'm browsing gallery sites like deviantart. The tabs feature really saves space on the Start bar when I want to open different windows.

    I've never really had coding for Firefox and Internet explorer difficulties. Typically, I code for Internet Explorer, and the design works fine in FF, just requring a few tweaks. I only seem to have problems when designing for FF, then going into Internet Explorer to see how it works there. But then maybe I'm just weird. =D

    Firefox is good for 90% of the things I use the Internet for, but I've found that IE is better when it comes to playing web-embedded video. For instance, I can only watch movie trailers with IE because Firefox just doesn't work right for me. Otherwise, I use Firefox as a matter of course.

    tell me, why does microsoft suck? seriously, why do they suck? granted windows 98 and below were complete TRASH. but windows xp, whats wrong with windows xp? the only thing wrong with windows xp is that since 99% of people use it, 99% of the virii are made for it. same with IE and so on.

    remember that virus that hit firefox a couple months back? let firefox have the marketshare microsoft does and see if they dont get many more problems like microsoft has now...

    P.S. i keep seeing people talk about they love firefox's tabs. i know i got my IE7 bootlegged, has it not been "released" to the public yet? even on my stats page i see a huge %age of people using IE7. i thought most people had converted by now no?
