A cake from the Internet Explorer team just arrived at Mozilla headquarters in Mountain View to congratulate the Firefox 3 team. The first taste testers report that it isn't poisoned, but one can't help but wonder if the cake is lie. In honor of today's Firefox 3 release, Microsoft's Internet Explorer team gave a cake to Mozilla. The tasty treat, which prominently displays IE's blue "e" icon, just arrived here at Mozilla headquarters in Mountain View. The cake congratulates Mozilla on shipping Firefox 3 and expresses love from the IE team. Microsoft's IE developers also sent a cake to Mozilla in 2006 following the release of Firefox 2, so this is clearly becoming a tradition. Portal jokes aside, the cake is a very friendly gesture of goodwill. As we have noted recently, the Internet Explorer team could learn a lot from Mozilla. Closer cooperation between Microsoft and Mozilla on standards and web innovation would be a big win for everyone. But until Microsoft gets its act straightened out, Mozilla will be eating Internet Explorer's marketshare in addition to cake.
IE needs to be careful, Fire Fox team may not be just eating that guy but Microsoft's share of the Browser market pie as well.
Competition doesn't always have to end with a sore loser. Its very professional to congratulate a competitor on a job well done and FF3 is definitely well done. IE7 isn't close to good enough to compete with it at this point.
Very nice, now let's see a cake with the giant fox on it that says "Congrats IE Team, for giving us your market share"
It's good competition and also this shows good spirit between them and also I have heard that they collabrate on various issues....
Yummy... Wish I can view the whole cake in one view .. Anyway I don't still think FF3 team deserves it coz I still never tried FF3 ... But soon I will..
