I'm wondering if we may have reached the "tipping point" I was looking for a year or so ago, where, in one big rush, everyone switched away from old, antiquated IE and helped move the web forward by using other far more modern browsers.

That is the best news I have heard in a long time. I would get lots more work done if I didn't have to figure some way to make things work in that piece of crap.

IE is bloatware. IE 8 has major compatibility issues and on my box can't view the source of a page without IE freezing. It's pure garbage IMO and if MS keeps this up IE will find the trash can...

I switched to Firefox many years ago and never looked back. Since then I always suggested Firefox to my friends and family and installed in on their computers when I had the chance and showed them how much better it is over IE. A lot of people where quite amazed.

People who switch to firefox will never switch back to IE. It's impossible to go back to IE after seeing the difference. The only reason IE is still around is because it is default installation on windows os. It runs like something from the 90's

I'm not wondering that IE loses market share. Firefox and Opera too are much more better than IE

Yes yes, i hope this trend continues and IE is finally dumped behind for a piece of outdated junk that it is. The future will be chrome and firefox.

Firefox while better than IE has had some issues as of late of its own.

Hopefully it can clean things up a little bit.

    Such as?

There are always ongoing issues with any piece of software but, other than those, I am unaware of any, so are you just making this up on your own or do you have help?

The thing behind IE is that it's been revamped and ripped off enough from firefox and other browsers in order to try and get back an already lost cause, namely the browser markets :)
