Link I'm wondering if we may have reached the "tipping point" I was looking for a year or so ago, where, in one big rush, everyone switched away from old, antiquated IE and helped move the web forward by using other far more modern browsers.
Yeah I think a lot of people in internet marketing only use IE to check browser compatibility for their sites. IE has never been all that great. So as more and more people discover Firefox, IE will have a tougher time keeping up. Windows 7 is the only thing that will keep IE going for a while.
didnt know firefox has that big of a marketshare. personally, nothing but Opera for me. though I do put on IE when some sites dont load correctly.
IE almost always has an error with all pages. I use IE, but its no good anymore compared to its competitors. Its always good to have more than one browser at hand. -Howlinghawk
I moved back to IE because my Fire Fox kept crashing and i caught a lot of viruses, such as when i type in google.com i would be redirected to another search engine so i deleted IE and went back to Firefox. so basiclly IE just sucks!
Poor IE, more problems your way http://www.infoworld.com/d/security-central/microsoft-confirms-attacks-against-ie6-ie7-340
Of course FF is my default browser now. The plugins and everything make it almost a necessary tool for web developers and anyone who is working on the internet.
Firefox is far better than IE...unless Microsoft makes some radical changes to IE, it'll lose further market share.
With the emergence of Google Chrome browser which is very stable and fast compare to Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. Sooner or later IE will be gone just like Netscape browser
I dont think you can just kill off a browser like IE in a few heartbeats, i highly doubt that IE will be gone it'll just plumit to an all time low and Microsoft will probably come up with another way to get more $$$ out of us for a product and plug ins that we rarely ever use ;/
I'm pretty sure that Net banking etc which is currently only supported properly by IE will make it's way onto other platforms in no time at all
