IE lost more market share worldwide, dropping to 60% usage. IE is now the minor player vs all the modern browsers in Europe dropping to 45%. As more Europeans run Windows Update and try out the new browser selections on the ballot box, hopefully we can cut IE down to 25% over the next year or two. Especially as web sites use more of the new standards and practices which won't even be available in IE9 (which won't be out for almost 2 years) and IE users find they miss out on new features.
In Pakistan microsoft has launched massive campaign to promote IE they ve made a new site explorepakistan.com.pk also using huge adsense at site to promote it more.. interesting.. but as a common user I dont think they gonna get back their share from Pak.. hehe
It is no surprise that IE is going downhill... still! MS had to act when it had the most loyal and big fan base but having failed to do so, it will now require exceptional efforts on its part to win these customers back... and I am not hopeful of that happening, anywhere in the near future! with firefox and their powerful addons .. and google chrome improvement.. it will very hard for IE to dominate the browser market
This is not a surprise for IE and Microsoft. There are many much better alternate ways to IE such as Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari. I would recommend Firefox and Opera over IE without a doubt. IE has a lots of vulnerability, plus their Active X is the best tools for malware and hacker to penetrate your PC with malware infection. IE is also known as a hog resources consumed. This lose will be continued as long as Microsoft still sit duck with the old IE structure.
i have tried to installed internet explorer 8 on my registered windows vista but it gives error and using ie 6...... just headache Chrome Is the best.
People encounter such problems... all the time while trying to upgrade! I tried to do so several months back and cursed my decision then... to do so. It made my system unstable... for some unknown reason! Regards, RightMan
I didn't realize it had fallen so far in Europe. Maybe if Microsoft hadn't coasted on its laurels for so long and actually paid attention to its competition it would be in a better position today. I use Firefox and would never go back to IE unless I had to. I keep IE installed on my computer only as a back up in case something goes wrong with my beloved Firefox.
I think they were doomed from the outset - their strategy was to shape the internet to meet their technologies, rather than building a compliant tool to use it. I get their decision from a commercial perspective, but it was a risky strategy that was never going to pay off. Consumers use the internet, but they don't run it. And techs were never going to go with proprietary technologies that didn't play nicely with others and cost money to run, especially when they had cheaper (or free) alternatives. I just wish they'd give up already and leave everyone in peace ...
Yup! one can think that IE has nothing more to do in Internet Market! due to much competent browsers with great features! Only IE can rely something from IE9!
