I completely agree. It's bad enough having to cater to Google as the biggest search engine. I don't want them to dominate everything.

Fix your system and you won't have such problems. I have 10 systems and four other family groups that all run Firefox with no issues of any kind.
IE8 is 10 years behind web standards and unable to operate with existing web technologies, including the DOM, proper javascript, XHTML, SVG, far behine all other browsers in CSS3 support and many more.

IE really needs improvement to keep up with the big players. The only reason why people are still using it is because it comes installed in their computers. The two main things they lack are an ad blocker and the use of tabs.

I was a firefox user, but it got a bit boring. I even installed skins, but it kept boring, so I changed to opera. In my opinion, opera is the best. I dont like neither chrome (boring theme) and ie.

    Best Regards

IE will probally be the major browser used. Its hard to tell if chrome will beat out fire fox because its so new. Maybe when it gets out of beta we will see if they add any new features

I agree - Opera is in my eyes the best "browser"

but with the extensions firefox is the better tool

not sure about chrome - and very much not sure about googles privacy policy with it!!!

anything that takes market away from microsoft IE is good

P.S IE8 is looking pretty good (but not great)

It's actually better that they loose some points, since now they have to perfect IE.
Competition is good, since they fight for US... and they have to make their products even better.

The Chrome loading times are pretty impressive but as above, if the policy isn't changed then I'll have to keep using FF.

Don't be so happy having so many browsers. Sincerely, I prefer just ONE. Why? Because I don't have to code for x browsers with y versions anymore. And I don't want/like Google's domination! Because I have to optimize my website to make Google "happy" so that I actually don't own my own website anymore, Google does. Because if Google doesn't want me anymore on the Web, I will lose all my traffic because of a stupid ban on a search engine that rules the Web - which is not fair at all.

We always have to play by Google's rules...

That's why I WANT some Live (MSN)/Yahoo marketshare to grow. Prices on ads drops, and it will be easy to rank better on each - more visitors.

For a coder or designer Yes, one is the best. Or at least many adhering to the same standards. But for the general public it is good to have many choices so that the browser market does not become yet another monopoly.

Chrome is eating FF's market and NOT IE's.

Then why do you prefer IE? There you have to rewrite your markup every time they come out with a new version. Currently, 8/7/6 and some even have to support 5.5. If you follow web standards, then you only have to code to html 4.01 and all the other browsers follow right in line.

Without competition, IE became the dominant browser and ruined the web. Fortunately, this is changing and Firefox/Opera/Safari and now Chrome are pushing each other to further modern techniques and standards, most of which aren't even available on IE8.
But you prefer Microsoft's domination with Live? Microsoft already controls your computer but now you want them to control your search, too? (And they do a bad job of that as it is)

How so? Two of my national chain restaurant customers are number one in their category and I didn't consult Google on that. My other 4 major customers are ranked pretty high, too. All I do is have good content and write standard markup. Every good developer and search company will tell you that.
So what did you do? And why do you think other search engines don't have, or won't have, similar techniques? Personally, I can't think of anything I would do that would cause Google to ban me.
    There are always rules.
And a watered down market. Now your ad budget gets stretched over multiple companies trying to reach the same customers.

But competition is always good. Better browsers force Microsoft to finally make changes in their browser after six years of doing nothing. Even IE8 is better though it's still the worst browser on the planet.
