Actually, yes, I have heard that there are sites around that are so incompetent they don't know how to write modern code and can only work in IE. Such sites are virtually unheard of nowadays but I believe there might be some financial sites that still don't have their act together and require IE, too. This does not make IE better. It only means the companies don't have the knowledge or ability to modernize their sites.
I wouldn't go as far to say IE is dead because people still use it. But, it surely has become obsolete, at least by my standards. I'm not sure why Microsoft is still even hanging on to the browser because it seems to get worse and worse with their so-called "improvements." I wouldn't even consider IE an even halfway decent browser. It's just a problematic application that happens to be somewhat mainstream because it's a default component of their Windows OS. If it weren't for that exposure, I doubt that IE would even exist anymore.
I wouldn't necessarily consider Internet Explorer to be "Dead" as millions of users still continue to use Internet Explorer. But one of the primary reasons that they continue to use IE is because of the sole fact it is the default internet browser that most Windows PC's come with. Firefox and Chrome are much more faster, and have the ability to be customized.
IE will never dead, as long as user still depend on Windows. If Windows dead, 80% of Microsoft product will game over soon (IE, sliverlight, hotmail, bing, office).
Seven years ago, IE had 95% market share. Today it's half that. For the second quarter in a row, Microsoft reported a drop in sales of Windows. Microsoft is encouraging Silverlight developers to only use it for mobile and not the desktop. Bing continues to lose money for Microsoft. In the meantime, sales for Apple and Google software products soared this year.
I agree with you, Microsoft is running loss in many areas and slowly losing their market share. Next year will be a great challenge for Microsoft, Windows 8 is the only chance for them to win back those losing market.
This ---^ is why IE will never die cause there will always be the clueless who don't know how computers work.
I think people are moving to the more user-friendly browsers such as Chrome and Firefox. Too many viruses and other things are easily transferred to your computer through IE and the amount of crap bars they have is ridiculous. I could literally fill the whole browser screen with a bunch of those help bars.
Yes you're a shining troll of an example .Here's some news . Websites also have to be dumb down for you beloved Fox as well . As far as I'm concerned you're still ages behind products like Opera .
So are you only on these boards to stalk me or are you here for anything useful? Only an amateur who gleans all his information from forums would say or think such a thing. Obviously you rank among them. Me? Or do you mean Firefox? Why do you associate me with Firefox? My current browser is Chrome. Of course it doesn't matter either since I'm browser agnostic and believe browser choice is personal preference only. Except for IE. Only people who are ignorant of computer and internet usage use IE. I'm positive you are such a person. EDIT: Just for you: IE users aren't as smart as other browser users. Right up your alley.
Don't worry no one needs to look after you . Bombastic declaration based mostly on hot air can be seen from satellite , especially when made by a well renowned troll . I've seen the study and i disagree simply because the sample is not random , it is a preferred sample and it also abysmal compared with the global browser usage . Just to point out how ridiculous this is it would mean that half the Internet population of China are retards , even if you want to assume that you simply can't without breaking the moron barrier yourself . BTW I've been a Opera user since 2001-3 (can't remember) , i don't fancy IE but anti-evangelists that spread nothing but crap disgust me even further . Wise opinions like yours belong to 4chan not to a civilized forum.
They why do you do it? No one else does. Windows users always call their superiors trolls when they have no response that Microsoft didn't tell them about. If Microsoft doesn't tell you what to think, you're totally lost. In fact, you have never responded with any fact or source. And of course you AGAIN make a total fool of yourself by acting like you can understand what you read. You glance at the article and declare yourself an expert but you really didn't pay any attention to what it said! Like most Windows users and DP users, you just spout off and you start babbling on about things you know nothing about. Of course it's not a random sample! Of course it's not comparing anything to global usage!! What is your problem?!! I'd bet you had the same issues in school. And yet here you are! You take an article someone else wrote and claim it to be mine. How typical of you.Â
ZZZZ .... zzzz .... are you done yet ? You take such a long time to troll . #1 You're not special , I know this is a shock to you but there are plenty of trolls like you out there . #2 (the only normal thing you said) You just said that you study is biased . QED
See what I mean. You have no counter cause you know nothing. Name calling is your suit. That's as high level as you can get. And who is calling who a troll? You are the very definition of it.
i know IE is not good but its not dead i know some nerds who don't know to install other browser and they are the main ad clickers an SEO expert will never cick on your ads unless he is your friends because he know the value of ads
very true. IE has dominated the marker till now. Thought it;s changing fast but it will take couple years may be 20 for IE to die, I mean die.
