IE is DEAD! Microsoft Tell People to Switch! Security Threat.

To me this is proof that IE is on it's way out.

Microsoft have discovered a serious security issue and asked users to switch to another browser.

Firefox wins!

I haven't used IE for a long time now. They are out of date and they have been setting web design back years.

Use this opportunity to switch to FF.

There's alot of schools, colleges, working places that mainly use IE throughout there whole system. Will they have to switch?

 

I believe that everyone is being advised to switch.

 

I never believe this kind of news, so I read the news myself and saw that it is not Microsoft that advises people to switch but others (experts, etc.) that do so.

OP, don't read news with your ass; read them with your eyes connected to your brain! And others, always be suspicious of what some random guy, called realmuscle this time, posts with high emotions on the Internet. It was clear, from the beginning, that something is fishy in his words. Btw, I am a Firefox user myself.

Whilst realmuscle may be some random guy, the BBC have reported the problem. The BBC is one of the UK's most respected news broadcasters. OK the thread title is a little dramatic but the OP provides a link to a reputable source. They have not made this up.

There is little comment directly from Microsoft at present.

You are, then, dumber than OP is. Noone says BBC article is wrong. What I am saying is that OP's interpretation of the article is wrong. Like I said before, don't read things with your ass, and get some education before launching into the webmaster business. Trust me, that will help you a lot. You should first learn how to read.

 

I have a degree in Commercial Law. That being said, perhaps I was hasty in my announcement. I just really hate IE.

 

Oh it bugs me too when I see overhyped, biased and blatant lies just to draw in readers. Microsoft did NOT tell people to switch [browsers], why would any successful company ever do that? The only quote in the article from them was "Microsoft is continuing its investigation of public reports of attacks against a new vulnerability in Internet Explorer,". You guys do know that Internet Explorer is exploited so much because it's most widely used? Once that scale tips towards firefox or other software, it will become the new target of attack.

 

Compared to most other browsers IE has got to be the worst out there and has been for quite some time but it does the job well and for most people switching browsers won't really be necessary.

This line says it all:

No matter what browser you choose to stick with there'll always be security precautions and the best prevention is stay off the internet but, people need to use it so the risk will always be there no matter how small.

dannywwww, true. In my college there is still IE5, and no one is planning to update it.

 

i don't think Microsoft would TELL people to stop using their browser. that would not be wise by any business.

'the webmaster business'. I would not call myself a webmaster. To start with it is pretentious. I run business websites to make money. I have never built a site for anyone, provided SEO services or claimed to be a master of anything.

You can't Compare a OpenSource with IE.
While you speak upon Firefox is the best that was basically made for Linux. You never know How much Firefox was Unsafe before. They try to Fix Security risk every day. OpenSource is Open so easy to be pwnd! While IE is truly Sick Slow but safe.

Thank God for that. Unlike Microsoft that waits years to fix some.

Think of this. IE has lost 25% market share over the last 3 years and it continues to decline.

and One thing I should tell you Before you Proceed. Firefox Project was First used as Linux Main Browser. They Tried in Windows and They are Leading Now. Even I use! FF.
