Ive tested it, and if started to fuck up my computer, as always when I use IE. Dont know why... The comp. just start to work reallly slowly.

I got 2gb of RAM, and 2,66 ghz Intel Core Duo processor. It isnt the best, but it shouldnt be any problems?

So I suggest that everybody change or continue to use Firefox! :)

FF is slow to "boot", that's probably the right word for that because the start time of FF almost equals the Windows boot time. However once FF starts, it works pretty well while the IE even messes up for tab openings as well... I love IE but the latest versions are just way below the par. I think Microsoft has to invent something new right from the ground up.

I'd say go for IE8, I'm always a IE user and never had much problems with it. :)

What a joke. IE has been losing market share almost every month for 4 years and is the most technically incompetent browser on the planet. Meanwhile, Firefox has been gaining share almost every month for 4 years but you say differently? What a joke.

This may be the fact that the FF has been gaining more sure over the years but if the problems like slow load time persist, the situation may turn around in wake of Chrome onslaught.

Talking about Private Browsing,I suppose it was introduced in IE 8 first and then firefox stole the concept.

Don't know what you mean by slow load time. Do you mean when you first turn it on? But you only do that once so what does it matter?

Chrome will kill IE, and it should, but I think FF will be one of the three or four browsers everyone will be using.

As a member of the Internet Explorer Outreach Team I try to help, advise and direct people with IE issues. However, I am not tech support and when asked questions beyond my knowledge I can take/collect more information and pass it along in efforts to resolve the issue.

As far as security goes, here are a couple non-Microsoft articles reviewing IE8 safety/security: http://www.pcworld.com/article/161587/is_ie8_actually_safer.html
    http://www.itworld.com/internet/67113/ie-8-its-security-worth-download

    wptheme,
If you’re having trouble viewing sites, you may need to enable the Compatibility View mode. It is the broken page icon next to the refresh button on the toolbar.

    I hope that helps!

    Thanks,
    Feran

To which there is never a reply you should add.
Why then do security experts advise against using IE? Why does IE have more vulnerabilities than all other browsers combined as reported by Secunia?
Which could get that on Microsoft's "blacklist" and forever relegate that site to non-standard viewing....forever! What a great idea Microsoft. Blame the users and site managers for IE7s frailties and punish them later.

Which "latest" version of FF are you referring to; 3.0.10 or 3.5b4 (which is the beta)? If it's the latter, I agree that it has a ways to go - but it is, after all, a beta... so Caveat Emptor.

I've logged plenty of issues with IE8 (the release version) in terms of page rendering, built-in features, in both stand-alone home as well as corporate intranet scenarios. I do like some of the new features in IE8 and it is fairly fast overall.

Just my $0.02 - I'm much more impressed with Windows 7 (build 7100 and higher) and Windows Server 2008 R2...

Then you're doing something wrong. Anyone who uses IE is an idiot in my opinion, I don't care what other browser you use (Opera, FireFox, Chrome, Safari, Flock) but IE pails in comparison to every other browser ever invented.
