    Hi

We have a new site that we recently launched. We want it compatible to all browsers. However, the links on the menu disappear in IE 6. I know that IE 6 is being phased out, but we still need to be compatible for it. Does anyone know how i can solve this issue?

Here is a page from the site:

    http://rb2010.rotobrush.com/EnergyEfficiencySolutions/DryerVentCleaning.aspx

The links on the left disappear when you roll your mouse over it.

The site was built in Dot Net Nuke.

    Please help.

    Thanks.

I would suggest you forget IE 6 users unless you know you will lose money from not pleasing them. If you do not want to do that here is a LINK

I am not familiar with Dot Net Nuke, though probably should be. Try using a CMS for your site.

Another workaround is to get a javascript browser sniffer and redirect your IE6 users to their own special version of your site.

    Good luck.

There is always remain some problem regarding CSS implementation in design code for IE.

So, you should check for other browsers. If it is ok then you need not to waste etc time and money.

Anderson and bluestar, i agree with what you are saying. Our programmers too said that IE 6 integration could be costly. As microsoft phases out IE 6 completely over the next few months, we will cease to have this problem, but in the mean time, we have no choice but to make it compatible. We did test the site out with other browsers for both Mac and PC and it works.

Bluestar, I will give your link to our programmer to see if he can find a solution there. Thank you.

If anyone else has a solution, please feel free to share. I appreciate your time.

IE6 is a problem for all web designers, should you or should you not design for it any more.
It tends to be your CSS that IE6 has a problem with. Some times its best to put in your header if using IE6 then use this CSS style sheet and put all your bug fixes in that, so that it wont affect the other browsers.
