Hm, you know, I never checked IE conditional comments... no wait, I have, and they had worked with Tredosoft IE's! Because I had a menu where originally there was an extra wrapping menu just for IE6 and 7... and I remember it working in the Tredosoft. However I'm very careful with those... I'll copy-pasta the Conditional Comment from a page (like Paul O'Brien's) that I know was written correctly... as I've seen IE ignore the comment if the spacing isn't done right or whatever. Like [if IE6] as opposed to [if IE 6]. It mattered, at least with Tredosoft. The * html hack always works in Tredosoft. What I really use to test stuff like Javascript or Flash in IE6 is a Virtual Box (Sun's Virtual Box software, free) which contains a copy of WindowsXP and so basically is a file called "windows" that my Linux system starts like any other file. Inside I have a native IE6, so it has everything IE6's really have. That way, I don't have to worry if what I see is due to real IE6 or the emulator. I have another VB with IE7 and Tredosoft IE6 and 5.5, which I use for MOST IE6 testing (since most of my testing is still CSS etc). I've heard extremely positive results from IETester and I've heard people say there are some big bugs in it. I've never tried it and don't need to, so I don't know what to think about it. I'm fairly happy with Tredosoft though occasionally I've seen minor things in the Tredosoft that weren't in the native.
