This is kind of weird. I have spoken to different people and they all give a different answer to this statement. Some say its True others say it should be False. What is your take on this one? Is this statement True or False? "If someone is on the wrong track, they are dialing a wrong number on a phone. "
I'm terribly sorry for bumping the thread but this is really important to me... Anyone got anything to say?
Right! you are given the statement - "If someone is on the wrong track, they are dialing a wrong number on a phone. " and you have two options as an answer. You could either say the statement is True or say it is False. In the first part of the statement you have the idiom "to be on the wrong track" which basically means - to be doing something in a way that will cause you to fail... and the second part of the statement actually relates to the first one. The task here is to say whether the second statement's meaning could be the same as the one of the first statement i.e. is being on the wrong track anyhow the same as dialing the wrong number!? I think that "If someone is on the wrong track, it's like dialing a wrong number on a phone that nobody answers: the goal of your efforts will be frustrated." Am I right on this one?
being on the wrong track means your headed in the wrong direction, if your attempting to do something, and your going about it all wrong, your considered to be on the wrong track. start to do it right, your now on the right track. its got nothing to do with trains or telephones.
