Bet you never thought you would hear that. I have just scraped the code for h**p**url.biz of (my partners and my) home page. (See sig) You go thru the process of a sign up with them, they insist on their code going on the home page....all done. Today i get an e-mail telling me that my link was removed from their directory as they could not see their code on my page. Just wrote them a stinking e-mail back and told them that i wouldnt want to be on a directory that is running either by a stupid human or a stupid program. Bit extreme i know but who cares. Idiot directories dont deserve my link and i dont want theirs. Rant Over. Hello fellow DP'ers, how are you all. Sal
You lose more than you gain by accepting terms like that in order to get into some directory or other. The first page is valuable, you don't want to put visitors off by cluttering it with irrelevant links to obscure directories that can't afford better methods of advertising.
The PR was erased. It was PR8 I think and then went to PR0. Now I see it has PR6 on home page but subpages has PR0.
Not 100% accurate as new sites will not show either. Better to say that 'your pages are removed entirely from the index' I am not being pedantic but some noob might go off in a panic thinking they are penalised, when in fact they are not even know about
When anyone submits to my directories and recips back, I do not care where the link for my directories are located. Any directory that wants a recip but only if you put their link on your front page, while your link is on some interior page, does not deserve submitting to. Same with idiotic sites that email me and say, hey your link is on this page (an interior page), please place our link on your front page or we will remove your link. I say, remove the damn link! Just noticed something, after a couple of days, my blog link to the right of my avatar finally showed back up!
Very true, I should have been more specific. Lets rearrange that too "You have current listings and a pagerank, then your page rank returns to 0 and you no longer can find the site in the listings" Much clearer, I think
