Identicle Meta Tags on Mulitiple Pages Hurt Ranking?

    Hi All;

    I realized today that when I copy/pasted Meta Tags onto each page in my website, I forgot to go back and change the data for each page. I believe this really hurt my ranking with Google (although not Bing). Because some of my deeper pages had mostly pictures and little (if any) text, I was keyword stuffing without realizing it!

    My inability to gain ANY ranking on Google has been making me nuts...I hope this is the glitch that solves the problem.

    Anyone have experience with this?

    It is certainly the problem due to which your site is not ranking in the search engine. In addition to it the internal pages have mostly images so that is also not doing much good. You need to add page specific tags & also tag the images properly so that the meta tags become relevant to he pages.

    Applying different Meta Tags on different web pages or inner pages have a really good impact on the optimization of the website. Always try to provide quality and unique meta tags on the website.

    Duplicate Meta Tag is a certainly a problem by SEO point of view. You must use unique Meta Tags for each page related to the content of the page.

    If you are just copy past the meta at all the pages of your site it's called keyword staffing. And it will give bad impact for ranking point of view.So always use unique meta for each page of your site.Your meta should be according to your page content.

    Each page should have unique meta...if u place same meta with all the pages its difficult to promote a keyword...because google doesn't sure which page u want to promote

    Edit them now. More than likely your problem has more to do with lack of backlinks than meta tags though.
