Ideas!

Hello, i recently purchased www.AdvertiseTalk.com which is a webmaster forum but mostly focuses on the Advertising and Marketing aspects.
Although we have a great design and the member registrations daily isnt bad im still not 100% satisfied that the site is what i was hoping for im wanting to help the members more maybe by adding a directory or some sort of page for them to advertise on.
This is why i need help/ideas im looking to make the site better not to make more revenue or to get more members (hopefully it would help) but to make the site more useful to the current and future members.
I think this is needed for any webmaster site to succeed, ive been running forums for awhile now but nothing of this genre mainly country specific forums with a smaller market but less competition.

Originality imo is the most important factor for a website to succeed. You have to give your members something they cant get no where else. If you are going to make yet another internet marketing forum then you need to come up with something that will draw tons of visitors. A directory isnt going to do it.

If you look at DP here for example the revenue sharing was a super great thing mixed with all his other great tools.

In order to increase the member base better make ur forum a
1. "Ad Revenue Sharing Forum"

2. Make the best posters on the forum Moderators, and also give this opportunity to be a moderator to each 7 every good poster.

3. Launch some interesting contests.

I agree originality is the best thing that a site should have to be able to succeed. Launch contests, give freebies, make sure to make threads alive and interesting.

I like "The Look" of your forum. Its well defined and organized. Lots of subject to choose from. I haven't registered yet but I will, add a referral program to it. So members will have an incentive to spread the word.

Also, write up a PR - Press Release. Its simple and you get ranked above #1 in any search engine giving the planets are lined up right.

Hello, all are great suggestions i have been thinking about adding the ad revenue share (actually its installed) but i havent enabled yet due to google not allowing two different adsense id's on the one page this means i will have to remove the top adsense banner and in turn the site will not generate any income to pay for the costs of running.
Yes i think originality is a major issue thats why i made this thread to see what others think would help it become something new and different.

There will be contests coming soon just trying to build a decent userbase before releasing them.

Do you think adding an articles forum would help the members, i then list relavent advertising and marketing articles for members and guests to read.
And also have a place where members can submit there own and i post up giving them links in exchange?

 

IMO that is a great idea. Articles are added content to your site which is good and the fact that it gives additional information to your visitors/members.
