Well has any of you heard about the ragnarok online game? Its a very popular MMORPG game next in line to WoW and Lotr. Well there are a lot of (Gravity(the company that owns the rights of the game) allows this) amazing concept based "private servers"(Basciacally they modify certain features of the game to make it easier/more fun to play). I have been playing this game for around 7 years now(Since it started in india) and even had my own private server(closed it down in a months time because it took too much of my time and i had my XIIth board exams). So newayz i had a very good idea on conducting a massive private server only competition which i am sure will get more than 10,000 players to participate. Winners will get cash prizes etc and the base has already been built...(PM me and i willl link you to the server website). What i do need are sponsors( I am looking for big time game company owners etc) to sponsor the event. But i have no idea on what all incentives i should give them.....i have thaught of site traffic/ re-directing/ advertisement in the server....but thats it....can someone please give me more ideas on how i can get players/sponsors into the tournament? Hosting is not a problem......what i am looking for is coverage and making the event popular and getting players. Also the whole point of this thread is to find out what all i CAN offer in return.....
My child have been an avid player of RO. But he quit it coz there is many human player using bot to leveling their character at the official server but GM do nothing about it. You can offer such as in the games,the sponsor company name and logo will be announce once every hour. Other than that,you can try promote the sponsored company product in the games.
We build a client that will reject bot programmes and we have also made many bot checking scripts. Our GMs will be much better in our server as this will be a international tourney and we dont want foul play. Thanx for the suggestions. Still looking for more ideas.
