Layout and colour scheme look good; you are obviously still working on the content. The poll is a good idea, it helps to engage first time visitors. Probably be a good idea to "seed" your forum a bit; I know from experience that visitors tend not to post if they don't see others already doing it (for some reason, people generally don't like to be first, so they need to be lead).
i agree get some posts in there and some downloads so people have a reason to stay but very nice design goodluck - do you have ad space for sale?
