Hey guys, Ok I starting an blog covering auto news, motorsport and a bit of racing game stuff and I need ideas on how to market it. I have set some growth goals and would like to be up to 300,000 unique views per month by July 2010. At the moment, I get between 300-600 uniques per day after a week in operation. The site still has one or two loose ends, but I am fixing it as I speak. The site is at http://www.carthusiast.com/ So far, this is what I have been doing: 1) Using social networks such as digg, reddit, stumbleupon, twitter, facebook and N4G (for gaming stuff). At the moment things are still slow since I have to build up my friends/followers network on some of the sites. Ive found reddit a bit frustrating at times with the army of people down rating posts, so sometimes good stories go to waste because of them. 2) Starting link exchanging. I am setting up a link section in the side bar of the pages to add links of other racing related sites, in exchange for them posting my link on their site. 3) SEO Practices. Since I am using Wordpress, Ive got All In One SEO installed, did some fine tuning with it, and also installed an XML Sitemap program. It seems to be working well since Ive been ranked at the top for some pretty generic searches. ====== I barely have any money, so I can't afford to advertise on a premium basis. Are there any other methods of free marketing I can implement, without say defacing my website with silly banner or buttons, etc?
How about writing some articles, and posting some videos. Just make sure they are high quality articles, and good content.
I will, but from a promotional point of view, Im still stuck with those channels I listed above. Any idea of other good sites that I can use to promote it?
There are millions of social sites out there. Try something like, Squidoo, Pingomatic, submitting free press releases. Oh, also. You can go to onlywire.com and socialmarking.com. They have a good list of social bookmarking sites.
It seems that you did very well as with only no more than 60 pages indexed you got between 300-600 uniques per day after a week in operation. Any further tips with your current effort?
