Drones drones and more drones. The world is going drone mad!

So without "dronning on" too much about drones.

I just reg'd http://dronewatchdogs.com and am looking for ideas for what to do with it.

Usually I have a plan but bought this on a bit of a whim so I don't have any kind of business plan or model yet.

I'm thinking just use WordPress and put some drone reviews and other drone news and articles on it. Turn it into an authority site.

But I'm also thinking maybe just turn it into a user forum. Use VB or Xenforo. Or perhaps use a sub domain for that.

Give me some ideas and inspiration!

    as word "Watch Dog" suggests:
make it Drone Review Site where admin or contributors write reviews about famous drones, something like GSM Arena, IMDB etc (sorry i can't think of smaller examples). allow users to submit reviews & ratings
and also put a forum in sub-domain to discuss drones & related topics

Thanks Mike! Yes the domain name words would suggest that it is a drone watchdog type site so would probably need to be looking like such with a professional theme/layout and organized into different sections.
Usually, I find a problem and then come up with a solution. I think what I need to do, is find problems that I can find solutions for in the world of drones.

    I guess one could be;

Problem: With drone technology rapidly accelerating and coming down in price. People aren't too sure what the laws and regulations for flying drones in their neighborhood are.
Solution: Dronewatchdogs.com will provide facts and news on drone flying laws and regulations for your area. As well as tips, tricks, news & reviews for all types of drones for sale.

Then have different categories for each part ie Drone News, Drone Reviews, Drone Laws, etc etc

Some of them don't have particularly high search volume but some do.

    [drone reviews] 2,900 High
    [drone review] 880 High
    [drone news] 1,900 Low
    [best drones] 6,600 High
    [best drone] 8,100 High
    [ar drone] 60,500 High
    [drone for sale] 22,200 High
    [drones for sale] 90,500 High

I guess I need to get blogging! :D

You could try contacting prominent "droners" to see if they'd be interested in guest-posting on your blog, in return for a link back to theirs.
As well as the bonus content (which of course they make for you), this will help build your site's authority - your target audience see a name they're familiar with and they're more likely to come back.

The problem with starting forums is that they're very hard to get off the ground - discussion breeds discussion, and in order to get users to stick around (or even sign up) there already has to be something happening there.

Cheers Kidsta! I guess I could do that. Guess I need to work out ways to find those sort of people and how to go about it. Been doing some work on twitter following droners on there so could ask on there.
How else could I go about doing that? Literally finding drone related sites and sending them direct message from contact page / contact options?
Yeah, forums need discussion to breed discussion. Still undecided on that yet though. Will see if site can get off the ground first and add forums later if there is need for it.

    Regards.
