Hi All, I own an online dating site www.LiveDateSearch.com The idea is to combine rate-me service and generic profile-based dating with possibility to earn point - Flirts and increase own Status. So people sign up and start to rank other profiles in "I like" or "I don't like" loop. The more ranks one does the higher one's position is in Active Members rating. The highest ranked profiles go up in Popular Members rating. Also we have New Members rating to give new visitors some chance to get Flirts and Messages. Also we have strong scam-detection system that is point-based with some proprietary methods. Members like this service and we want to start active promo campaign now. Site is 100% free for members. We monetize it with adsense and this gives pretty good conversion rate. What kind of promotion methods can be the most efficient to rise it up? Kind regards, Anatoliy
Google...that is the best place to get traffic. Work on SEO. Long process but you could get there in 6 months.
Did you try social bookmarking? It should be very effective if you promote site on related social networks.
Adsence is good and keep on it.Maybe you can invest more to get more conversion since you think it's useful. It needs time for you to make your website popular.
Relationship/Dating forums will probably be a HUGE source of traffic. Have you tried using forums yet? Here is what I would do... I would write or pay someone to write a report (10-20 pages long) about how someone can find their true love using Internet dating- or something like that. Throughout the report, mention your dating site (with a link of course). Next, I would become active in the popular relationship/dating forums. In your forum signature, advertise that you have a free report that will teach people how to find their true love using the Internet. Include a link to download your free report. You have two options here... You could create an opt-in page and build a mailing list, or you can give away the report for free without requiring an opt-in. Personally, in your specific situation, I would not require an opt-in. It's totally your choice though. I would just want them to get instant access to the report that SHOULD eventually lead them to my free dating site. One thing I must stress though... When you are using forums to market your products or services, it's important to ALWAYS provide value to the forum members. Notice- I have a link to a free report in my signature. If you check all of my posts in the past (check my profile), I have offered nothing but value with my posting. I never post in a thread just to build my post count. I want to provide value to the members of the forum. If you go into forums and post single-sentence replies or value-less information, you probably won't have much luck using forums. Hope that helps
if you have some budget to spend on, try to find a very active forum about dating etc..to see if they sell forum banner and ask for their monthly price. Usually it should be very affordable. But don't jump on that too soon, just go for a forum where members are mostly singles. Also, you should seriously consider generating leads using free ebook opt in. Even though they might not be signing up the first time after downloading the ebook, you could still send out contests or freebies from time to time to get their interests back. As for the ebook, try to find some existing ebook which is really interesting and buy it for resell right. Finding a writer to write a brand new one is also an option but it's not easy to find the right writer for that niche if you don't provide them your main ideas. Besides, you could save a lot of headache..
