It depends on the business and the site you want to take moeny from. I don't think you can convert traffic into money in any business.
Hi, You can use a affiliate based network and target ads accordingly. You might already be knowing about clickbank. As for making money out of polls, it just depends upon if whether a brand entity wants to understand the market well, such things dont happen all the time and hence this only gives inconsistent income.

If your list is targeted meaning for example you built it from your weight loss blog then try mailing them a good weight loss offer (list should be big enough though) and you should convert great on that stuff. Only thing to remember is that your traffic should be relevant to the list like in the weight loss example I just made and not just random because if you promote something to a random list then the results will be pretty random as well.
