Have you considered marketing the online store outside the web? For some it may sound like a waste of time but it is actually a perfect add-on to your online marketing campaign 1. Advertising: This venue can get pricey. The trick is to find the right magazine, newspaper or publication that fits your audience and budget. 2. PR: This one is my favorite. Traditional PR campaigns can be extremely pricey but the market has shifted and some PR companies or/and individuals are offering campaigns that will fit a smaller budget. The game here is to: · Find a good PR company (always ask for references) · Define the campaign (TV? radio? Magazines? Which markets? What demographics? etc.) · Be patient. It takes time but when it happens it is so much more then advertising. PR can be your company name appearing in an article about your industry or product. It can be an appearance on a TV show, a radio broadcast, etc. It isn’t only adverting but builds name recognition, puts you above the competition and builds credibility. 3. Trade Shows and local shows: My experience with shows is mainly an “eye openerâ€. Sometimes when working online you are in a bubble. When attending or exhibiting in trade shows you learn a lot about the industry, what people are looking for and what your competition is doing. 4. Charities and Auctions: If your product can be offered for raising money for a good cause go for it. To begin with, giving is good but you are also spreading the word and it is tax deductible. 5. Mailers: Yes, email newsletters are much cheaper and faster but sending a postcard or/and catalog to your past customers might be a constant reminder on the fridge, is eye catching and is easy to pass on to friends, relatives and neighbors. If you don’t have a printing company you work with I highly recommend www.printingforless.com. (use coupon: RP1WKM73K for $25 off). I am a very happy customer of theirs.
