Ideas for marketing exercise site

I plan on trying to get SE rankings and putting it out there on forums but other than that how do i begin to get traffic?

I also plan on submitting some articles to ezinearticles...are there any other good article sites?

Try AdWords

 

Google to search for article directories.
Google to search for forums pertaining to your site.

Then use google to set up an adwords campaign.

If you have the money for it you can place an ad in a fitness type like magazine.

Or an ad in the newspaper, this could bring in some traffic that also might return.

 

Yeah, try and focus on placing ads in relavant places, you don't want to make the mistake of placing an ad on a site that will return no interest in your site.

 

You could also hang some posters at your local gyms if they will let you.
