Hey all, Have a PR project for a new children's book series which has had some good success in traditional media. Really looking to push social media and blogging in an emarketing campaign. Any tips or sites I should definitely look into? Thanks!
I'm actually writing an e-book on building pre-launch buzz for book launches which will be available officially probably late next month - a lot of the tactics will also help with ongoing promotion. Dee Power (deepower here on dp) is also organizing an online seminar later this month on Internet marketing for authors that you should probably check out. In the meantime, the biggest tip I would give you would be to launch a virtual publicity tour - set up interviews with bloggers, podcasters, Internet radio show hosts, etc. within a limited time period to really maximize the buzz you can build. For something like that, I'd also suggest starting your own podcast where you maybe offer audio versions of a sample chapter from each book (or of one of them in full, depending on the length, and then perhaps sell other audio versions of the other books in the series). Depending on the intended reader age, I have a friend who runs a site on preschool aged children - www.PreschoolRock.com. She also runs an online radio show, so she may be a good person to talk to on that front about doing an interview or something.

lol Glad to hear that. Not having little ones myself, I don't know much about that niche and what's available. However, I know Rebecca (internetauthor on dp) runs a blog for moms. She may know of some sites in the niche that would be good for you, being both a writer and parent herself.
