Ideas for an opt-in list incentive

Hey guys, I have been working on my site for a while now, however, I need an incentive for potential customers to sign up to my newsletter.

I would like to offer a course on something. I previously attempted to write about how the user can buy a domain, setup wordpress and advertise their affiliate products.

However, that is waaaaaayyyy too much information and I need something smaller, yet something that will attract many people to sign in to my list.

Please throw around some ideas before I pay someone to write about something totally out of the scope of a small newsletter series.

    Thanks guys

    Hi,
    Here are some suggestions-

-Offer a free report(Get PLR rights to some report in your niche if you can, it works out cheaper)
-Offer Some really good tips upfront and then entice the reader to add his/her email address for more.
-Add some video or audio on the opt-in page(It works)

Of course all the material above has to be of good quality.

I have an idea that might be ok, it will include a whole lot of different marketing ideas and plans to get people started.

However, that might be quite a huge course in itself.

    More suggestions anyone?

I suggest you start with an small report (it doesnt matter if it is PLR), then continue with a follow up series of emails, this can be your e-course.

You will want to allow others to distribute your ebook for free, as you want more people to know about your website. Try to put in an advertisement to your e-course in the giveaway report as well.

You can giveaway a free brandable quality e-book. Inside the free e-book you'll recommend other products(either your own or affiliate products).

Now whoever signup can even brand the e-book & pass it to others. If their referrals buys something thru by clicking embeded links inside ebook then you can share the revenue with them.

It'll not only entice visitors to signup but it'll reward them as well for passing it to others.

I teach a course on how to do this. Actually my e-course would make a perfect working example of how to go about setting it up. It's the listbuilding-101 link in my sig.
