it MUST be lightweight as it will only be used by staff members.

What does this system do? I didn'T found it on their site.
It'S just like Project Manager with To-do list?

If yes, so try to use joomla with projectfork plugin, it's good, I am using it aswell

 

basically i just need somewhere for my staff to post there ideas on what events/days out we could do and be able to comment on each one

 

You'd do well with a project management script. Check out codecanyon and hotscripts.

 

i am soon to be opening a it based business with techs so would be good to have 'task assigning' sort of thing i guess.
