    Hi,

As a web publisher who is monetizing their site what is the ideal ratio of traffic?

Currently direct hits comprise 75% of my traffic, 20% is backlinks, and 5% is search engines (mostly google).

This doesn't seem right to me. Can someone balance these numbers so I can focus in a particular area?

What are your thoughts on traffic ratios?

I guess I don't understand. As long as you are not paying for any of that traffic - who cares where it comes from?

Okay, let me answer my own question - Can you determine the quality of the visitors from each of the groups you highlighted? Do Google visitors hit one page and are gone? Do people that click on backlinks look at 200 pages in a sitting?

Based on that analysis - I would try to change the ratio - otherwise it really makes no sense.
