[COLOR="#03300"]Some are posting offers for Free submissions and offers for paid submissions on the same directory

But what they REALLY are doing is just looking for Paid Submissions and sending REJECT emails to all the Free ones REGARDLESS of quality.

Everytime someone replies to the topic, it brings their thread up to the top.

Not all readers read EVERY comment in a long thread, so many will just see a too good to be true offer for a free submission or submissions and waste their time submitting.

There have been several examples of this recently. Examining one case, NONE of the free submissions are in the directory - but paid ones were added within a day.

How about an optional subtopic for ANY offer that pushes Paid - and a separate category for COMPLETELY FREE - and creating a mandatory poll so that submitters could vote on whether they were accepted of rejected.

This gives alot of insight as to whether there was sincerity on the part of the directory owner.

Previously, one could get some idea of the quality or controversy of the offer by how many members REPLIED to the thread - but some may be turned off by negative Rep Points. No possible harm could be had by having a Mandatory Poll :D .

iIt would also be helpful to there was a tool that users could use to instantly check if a directory category is cached on Google. For now, one has to leave the page and copy and paste the URL on Google. This is especially important for paid submission because they are less important if the Google has not spidered them.

If this can be proven that someone claiming to have a "FREE" directory does not in fact accept free listings, it would seem that their original post should be at least modified by one of the moderators or pulled completely for false advertising.

If the directory has switched from free to paid then the thread should be updated by the OP - as a professional courtesy if nothing else.
