Is this normal practise I have never moved a site before from one host to another, my new host is asking me for a copy of my passport to verify who i am.
"But it's to prevent terrorism"!!! I've had registrars ask for a fax/scan of my driver's license - which I flatly refused to give them. Personally, if I'm not crossing a border, I'm not showing my password to anyone, and certainly not letting anyone make a copy of it - especially not a frickn web host. If they want your business badly enough, they'll work out a way around their stupid 'security' policies.
change your new host, seriously! no point going to a web host that is more interested in your identity rather than your business
I had no Idea that moving from one host to another is so friggen hard, my current server has been down for nearly three days, I signed up with another host but i'm having to jump thru hoops to move my site, they take for ever to reply. this crap has been going on for nearly a month now, my current host is sooo bad you have no idea, since last month I have tried to find a new host I joined one but had problems there from day one so finally I found another and now I find that moving from one to another is just plain hard.
