Many of us have been cheated by unlimited host's...

I would still like to see the advertising of website hosting and domain names, but to forbid the selling or advertising of "unlimited Website Hosting"...

If the packages look like they over sell, then discuss it and decide from there, but for all these unlimited website hosting companies/Members,

I believe that we should STOP! Their scams or mistakes, before people get annoyed and do not trust anyone here again...

Personally I would agree with this especially as it is physically IMPOSSIBLE to offer unlimited space, bandwidth however common sense should really be applied in these cases, anyone who has sense will know these services are being oversold to death and will most likely dissapear within a month or so.

Heres a couple of good tips i've picked up since i've been hosting.

1 Dont pay bi-anually for a plan straight away, try them out for a month or so first unless it's a well established & reputable host (like hostgator or jagpc) Otherwise you could end up loosing a lot of money. Still some reputable companies can take a turn for the worst though, as I found out the hard way :( I lost about $78 and i'm not likely to see it again either but if its a company like jagpc then you should be ok.

2 Do your homework - read up on reviews about the host at places like WHT, chances are if its a bad host someone will be complaining about it somewhere. If there are no reviews then ask around about it.

3 TAKE BACKUPS!!! - if the host goes AWOL then at least you will have a backup to fall back onto

hope some of this was usefull to you.

I dont think they will be changing the rules anytime soon however, I guess it could unfairly peanalize those who actually run a good service even though it will be oversold.

I agree. Unlimited web hosting is RUINING THE INDUSTRY. It needs to be stopped.
