Hello, For my business class I have to come up with a new product. My new product was those magnetic trays, mostly used by mechanics. But instead of the standard tray mine would have dividers to keep things separate. What are your thoughts, comments or concerns.
Not good enough. You're just making a slight adjustment to an existing concept. I am sure somebody has already thought of it. Come up with something more creative (preferably original).
It does not exist on the market today and people are making home made versions of these already meaning there is a possible need or want for them
@Brett Ragon you've possibly come to the wrong place to ask. We're all about the web and internet marketing, we're probably not your target market - you should probably be asking on the forums where your target market hangs out - or go to them and have real life conversations.
I didn't Google when I posted my reply, assuming that something so simple should have, indeed, existed. This time I did a quick search, sure enough it's already there: http://www.foxruntools.com/6-parts-tray-with-divider---part-gr-67453.aspx
aaah, @Brett Ragon hasn't even done his market research to identify if similar products are available. Surely his teacher told them to do that!!!
I have at least two different types of magnetic trays in my workshop, one for small parts (about 4" x 2") and one a lot larger, for larger tools and parts, (about 14" x 8" or something like that) - the larger one has dividers you can add / remove and place at will, the small one has three "slots", non-movable. So no, this is definitely not a new idea. The larger one I have can also be ordered with a LED-strip to light it up, and you can get it with different coating, depending on what it's used for. So, go back to the drawing board, OP.
Try not to let out all your ideas either. This is a public forum so you never who will see this as a good idea and take it.
