Fellow DP'ers, I'd like your opinion on my entertainment website about lists of trivia, covering all kind of funny, interesting and odd lists. My site went online on 1/1/11 as i thought it was a cool day to launch. I'm still working on the "backend" of it as i don't think it's quite finished (design,SEO, etc...) This site is my hobby so i'm taking it easy. It is hard work to make a good looking site together with good content, I'm sure some of you know this very well. Please follow this link and give me your honest review. You have my thanks.
Are you targeting for these keywords? list, cafe, lists, trivia, top, ten, bizarre, humor, history, mega, nature, humanity, mysteries, theories, 10 Please get at least 2 words or 3 words keyword phrase to target for a new site like this. It will be a lot easier to get good ranking for long tail keywords than one word keyword.
Thanks for the feedback guys. At Betty, i actually want it to be non www, i have www redirecting to non www. At netyards, those keywords are what defines the site (sorta) as it's so broad in themes that i think front page keywords will do no good, each page has its own keywords. I am expecting to reach more audience by social sharing and stuff like that. But i appreciate any bone thrown at me, thank you.
At first glance it looks like it cool design but what I realised then I didn't know where to look first. Maybe you can work on this a little. Maybe not having the post shifted might help?
Thanks featurex, that is something i wish to change. Just don't know exactly how. I do like them shifted but i reckon it may be confusing at first. I think i need to remove the "join us" button from there and move it to the right side.
OH wow.. that is far too much for me to take in. I think the glows are very eye-catching, which is not a good thing. I LOVE the content, I think you've got something there. I just think a different, magazine style layout would be more familiar to the average user. Perhaps you could adopt something like 5 standard icons that could users what that article was generally about: movies, trivia, etc.
I think it is a goodstart, but find it too cluttered. There is too much information every where. I would suggest you to highlight the central theme of the website right after the header and build your home page around it and then link your content around it.
Thank you, i'm trying to make it lighter. Both in Kb size and visually. Any other suggestions are welcome.
