Officially this base logo with be used for represent two very differnt areas,
so will need to be fairly customisable.. and worth bearing in mind..

WINNING DESIGN MUST BE HIGH RES LAYERD PSD OR AI
(preferably VECTOR BASED)

The competition will end on 21/03/13 5PM GMT
Although i reserve the right to close this contest early,
should a winning entry be found before hand

PAYMENTWILL BE MADE VIA PAYPAL WITHIN 24hrs of receiving all files

thank you for the entry, i really like this, bright clean and icontic.. Also the font works well for me too..

UPDATE------------
Just got on the phone with my partner on this, and they gave me some examples of other things they like. In the hope to inspire, YES they are widely differnt from the orignal but hopefully it will help. They are more than happy to see variations, but the bottom line is the knight icon should be simplified. Recordnisable without to much detail (if that makes sense)
