The grouping of the 12-team 20-over-a-side World Cup have finalized in the ICC meeting held in Dubai on Oct 30-31.

The ICC fixed the grouping on the basis of position of the teams in the first-ever ICC World Twenty20 Championship held in South Africa this year.

Australia was placed in the strong group C along with Sri Lanka and West Indies.

The groups are (with 2007 finishing positions in brackets):

    Group A: India (1), Bangladesh (8) and Zimbabwe (9)

    Group B: Pakistan (2), England (7), Associate 1 (10),

Group C: Australia (3), Sri Lanka (6), West Indies (11)

    Group D: New Zealand (4), South Africa (5), Associate 2 (12)

What is your expectation from Bangladesh Cricket Team & their performance?
Bangladesh won three match in last T20 World cup against & lost against Ireland.

Lol. Why are India pooled up with Zimbabwe/ Bangladesh ? Is it because if they were to be knocked out in the first round iteslf, the interest in the competition would diminish.

The one reason that the 07 competition was a success is because India ended up reaching the finals.
