Indians will handle pressure better at T20 WC post-IPL: Dhoni

Youngsters gaining experience in handling pressure, emergence of match-winning part-timers and valuable practice are the positives Indians have taken from the IPL as they gear up to defend their Twenty20 World Championship crown next month, says skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

"Well, the good thing if you see in this tournament that will really help us in ICC World Twenty20 will be the emergence of part-timers who have done really well. Especially in the field restrictions, you have Yusuf Pathan bowling at that point, Harbhajan (Singh) has bowled and (Pragyan) Ojha also has bowled," Dhoni, who captained Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, said after the semifinal loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore.

"Most of the spinners are part-timers who are a part of the side, they have bowled in that particular time when you as a bowler are under pressure. Not much of spin, maybe the ball holds on a bit over here. But overall the experience will really count, this tournament in the 55-60 games that took place, most of them went really close.

Yes Indians have two extra spinners too in terms of Yuvi and Rohit which have combine 3 hatricks in IPL.

 

Please also take in not, that the Pakistani players are also having a T20 series in lahore...so the team would be well warmed up, however they are not going to get as much practice as indian players... Also do take note, that Saeed Ajmal who played a major role against the Aussies has cleared his spinning 'doosra' action test and has been verified as correct.

So, Pakistan And India have the highest of Chances, yet again

 

Do not forgot Raina as well,also we have Yousuf and Jadeja.

Yes we too want both teams in finals but I think none of them might come into final.

 

Yes,if both teams come in final like last year,there will be great enjoyment.
They have chance to come in final because all players are fresh.

 

Australia's coach Tim Nielsen has called on cricket's administrators to show greater respect to the Twenty20 format and end its "exhibition" status at international level.

As Australia prepared to depart for the ICC World Twenty20 in England on Wednesday, Nielsen said the time had come for international schedules to reflect the growing importance of the 20-over game by scheduling regular three-to-five game series, rather than shoehorning one-off Twenty20 contests around Test and 50-over games.

Yeah, Nielsen is not the first one to be saying this. Yet, the ICC has very clearly said that they are not going to increase the number of t20s for now.

Think India will be fresh enough to win the tournament?

 

EVen Andrew Flintoff is now saying that India is going to win it.

India will do well if they dont look too jaded. Look out for the Aussies as well, never know when they make a comeback!

 

Yup, in a T20 we can't really say that which team is gonna win. In a T20 we need good performance as well as some LUCK.
Only then a team can win it.

I think India will win for 2nd time

 

I want to see India and Pakistan in Finals.

 

We area gonna see a Warm Up match on 1st June between India v New Zealand !!
Its a D/N match.
It will be a good match and we can watch it on Star Cricket @ 10 PM.
