I wrote 2 eBooks, now what?

Discussion in 'Copywriting' started by LastLevel, Mar 12, 2007.

So I wrote eBooks on the following:

(50 Pages) Modeling - Includes the history, current, rules, perfect picture, etc with some pictures to make it more genuine
(28 Pages - approx ) How technology affects our lifestyle - what the media, etchnology, and etc does and how it affects us for better and worse... etc

Now that I have these, what should I do? I don't wanna go sell em for $1 each at a time, hoping to make a quick sale, any ideas?

I also got LOADS of articles on tattoos, baseball, footbag, and other topics...any ideas guys? let me know...

    thanks

Selling it for $1 isnt necessarily the best thing. Sometimes, making the price low devalues the product, and people might think it is some sort of junk.

Try selling it on DP for let say $9, and ask for testimonials. That way, you will be able to put them up on your sales page.

Because I need to get rid of them, investing into a site or selling 1 copy at a time is a waste for me.

Why did you write them if you just need to get rid of them?

Give them away for free to the first person who asks, if you really need to get rid of them that badly.

Well I have no use for them so why keep them? For someone who complains about writers being underpaid your sending mixed signals.

I don't "complain" about writers being underpaid - I'm not one of them. I simply voice my opinions on the subject.

I'm not sure what mixed signals you are talking about, however. Care to clarify?

You are saying I should give it away...when you/your group is teaching writers to not accept low rates anymore.

There were plenty of helpful responses here as to what you should do with your e-books.

You're the one saying that you have no use for them and you don't want to waste time trying to sell them.

In that case, you either keep it and let it sit there or give it away! I'm only answering your question - it's not something I would do if I took the time to write two e-books.

I dont want to sell them in multiple copies i said (eg. at $1 each) i wanted to make a "quick sale" to get them off my fingers. Are there any sites that you can sell them at specifically for this?

Why don't you try selling them on this forum, then? You don't have to sell multiple copies, and once someone has bought one or both e-books you're rid of them. You can set your own price or have members bid on the e-books.

Do you have any contacts, i.e. past clients, who might be interested in purchasing the ebooks?

You should always know your market before developing a product. That way you don't have to wonder who you are going to sell to once the product is ready.
